The US-Mexico border has been the subject of increased attention and heated debate since Donald Trump declared the construction of a permanent wall along the 2,000-mile border between the two countries as one of his main priorities as president. Artist Marcos Ramirez ERRE, who lives and works between Tijuana and San Diego. Has made the border a central part of his work for more than two decades. Examining its often forgotten history and changing contours (California. Texas. Utah. Nevada. Arizona. New Mexico, and parts of Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma were once part of Mexico). As well as its current social, economic and political implications. The main checkpoint between Tijuana and San Diego, the San Ysidro port of entry, is one of the busiest land borders in the world, where more than 30 million people pass each year. The endless flow of goods and people is proof of the complex and interdependent relationship between the two cities and the United States and Mexico more broadly.
