Flowers Gallery is delighted to announce a new gallery space in Hong Kong, its first location in Asia. This year, the new gallery opens its doors in the Sheung Wan district. With an exhibition dedicated to the works of the famous German photographer Michael Wolf (1954-2019), he lived and worked in Hong Kong.

Architecture of Density.

This inaugural exhibit will showcase examples from his extensive investigation into the lives of ordinary Hong Kong residents. Wolf has dedicated his career to exploring the complexity of life in megalopolises. He focuses in particular on the dense urban environment of Hong Kong. The exhibition presents examples of emblematic works. Notably the internationally renowned Architecture of Density series. Presenting an abstract view of Hong Kong’s seemingly endless residential and industrial facades. Next to large-scale photographs. Works from Informal Solutions. A series of photographic typologies and vernacular sculptures. Which show an intimate perspective of the city from its hidden network of alleys.
